Insomniac

O! I can’t simply sleep
In the scent of the midnight deep
On the time of the early dawn
My eyes open as the lion’s moan.

O! I can’t simply sleep
When it is simple and too cheap
Were all poor and rich can fairly get
But I can’t even glimpse more so met

O! I can’t simply sleep
If my bed is warm and silent beep
These thoughts injects caffeine strength
May keep me awake for three nights a length.

Is it a cunning disease
Or sleep fairy’s tease
I tried counting thousand herds of sheep
But O! I can’t simply sleep.

Looking at our olden Britannica
It seems that I have insomnia!

At the Sea

We sail the world
Like flocked birds migrating
Yet we’re all alone,
In solitude,
In that silence,
Sometimes afraid,
Too often troubled,
Enflamed by love,
Satisfied by beauty
We travel seas apart
Miles away
Only to find home
Is where we are
In our naked selves.
Yes anchors are up
Our rudders turning
Winds…our breath blowing
Often we hurry
Then at times lazy
We cram and procrastinate
rushing and tumbling.
We time our actions
Our deeds rehearsed
But plans are maps
Written lands and waters
however life at sea
Are lived
all but a day.
We sure do sail
All over
Even under
Above the clouds
And to the wonders
Praying at storms
Cease and abate.
At triumphs
Bottles are raised
Toasting to the God,
Who created the waves
Thanking the heart
That beats
And the love
that made them be.

Sailors are sons
Of the great Poseidon
But pirates,
They are warriors
Of this vaster blue.
Whichever flag
tied on the mast
We all sail
With our reason paddling
For dreams we row
Our lives as boats
Drifting
journeying
At the sea.

Your Beauty did to me

Like a child running to the rain
Or the first time he ever rode a train.
The sweet dance that is unforgotten
And the moment I ever drawn with pen.
Maybe it sounds like my staged infancy,
But this is what your beauty did to me.

Maybe it’s like a seshuan rice in the evening
Topped with steamed prawn dumpling
It could be the secret adobo of Lola
Or her special palabok with extra tinapa.
It might seem to be I’m hungry,
But this is what your beauty did to me.

Then it could be the golden sunset view
And the walk at calm ocean blue.
Perhaps a trek at the olden verdant trails
Or simply watching sky and clouds sail.
A marvel of the world’s tranquility,
This is what your beauty did to me.

A silence that hushed my noise
A light that gave me poise
The hopes of morrows bring
And the comfort of the angel’s wing.
It reads a senseless flattery,
But truly this is what your beauty did to me.

Eros’ Decree

Claim my dear my heart!
Accept this love of mine.
You my phantom of cheer
Created my feelings and all that is to fear.
You lit my soul in this gloom-filled days
Laud my emotions
Through the crowd of this restless place.
Veracity will not pass again like this.
To you I evoke my life to suffer and to cease.
None is nigh for this love inside.
Yet there is you from now ‘til heavens beside.
The anguish by solitude delivered my body my mind to frail.
O cohere with me on this lonely tale.
Eternally you would be wooed.
faithful until the mountains relieves it’s stood.
No obstacle to reach the velvet sky.
O’er my love is strong and does not die.
The longing for your heart and through its shadow
I come to profess to let me be to peace
the thousand cheers and maybe of sorrow
All from the heavens, a little Eros inside flaming bliss.

Seven-Day Starting

White fertile morrows
Strengthened by veering jade
Lamented in an unending sorrow
That’s what my will been made
Constant cheering of the heart
Widened brought my part.
So comes my futures door,
A week counting more.
All will face the sonnet change
Places, peers be arrange.
Love may knock unto my soul
The passion unknown recall.
Still searching inside, before come beguiles
About what I am in misery’s smiles
Or joy’s tearful ride.
Step to form a wealthy trade
Or fall to the abysmal blade.
After Sunday passes, come be the day.
A balance by the morning way.
Meditating closely on the dunes of heaven
So to know the jovial songs I hum
And for the verity of what I want to become.
This will all see light after the waiting of seven.

Of Longing and Missing

Your picture flashes again,
Not even a question when
I find it lovely as it appear
As it is your consoling cheer
All day I wonder where you are
But God! I hope not too far!

I flew and unto beyond
Only to wake…dreaming a fond.
Yet I visited a land of flowers,
Of roses, tulips, and those from the ethers.
A dozen red I held be given
But even a million wouldn’t suffice even.

Walking on the line of passer-by
Holding your hands may have a try.
And maybe to dine under the starry night,
the portrait of vespers and candle light.
An olden film after…‘til morning coffee brew
O! Wait I’m thinking but a much…
I must be really missing you.

Tagong Himno

Ang ilaw sa tanaw ay di-napaparam
Huwag ka lang magpaalam.
Sa pagiisa ika’y binuong sigla
Wika sa piping lumbay tila.
Luhod sa araw ng kalayuan
kulang na di-mapunan.
Lawing na walang pakpak,
Ngunit sapa’t ika’y hanging hawak.
Lipad sa kahinaang abo
ang tinig na taglay at amo.
Tugon sa liman-libong anino
na nagmula sa isang tao.
Halika balik sa piling
ito ang walang hanggang daing.
Subalit ang dila pinako.
Ang puso pilit sinako.
Agam sa walang kasiguruhan
Ang pagtigil ng tubig ng buwan.
Ngayo’y wasto sa angulo
mistulang tunay na bato.
Hiyaw na ‘sing tamis ng awit
Laman din ang ‘di madinig na pait.
Lasa na ayaw tikman
dahil baka tunay na matauhan,
na ang kapalaran ay di-gagalaw
sa takot na ayaw pakalaw.
Isang tunay na saliw.
Isang himig na ayaw.
Pigil na tibok sa takot,
isang bukas na ikapupoot.
